It has taken a world of change - for better and worse - to get here. To feel safe in my own skin and to feel confident in sharing my art. It's still a work in progress. After so much grief, loss and struggle, I'm still finding my place in this world, finding where I stand out, when I've only ever worked to fit in. But after everything that's happened, it feels like this journey is the only one worth making.
I spent my childhood doodling, little flowers and vines in the margins of homework, scrap paper at work, fiddling with beads and watercolours and testing the crafty waters time and time again, until smashing china and making jewelry became a thing I did regularly, and then with significant loss, I found solace in returning to art. And I haven't stopped. Over the last couple of years, I've thrown myself into summer markets and events, hauling along everything I've been making, and it's become a passion I never knew I needed. Creativity heals us all - and Coneflower Art Studio is my healing journey.

Broken china custom orders are currently welcome - please contact me below to start a conversation!
I am not currently offering custom orders on artwork or stainless jewelry.
Broken China Jewelry - is wrapped in fine kangaroo leather lacing. Care should be taken to not get your broken china jewelry wet, as this will weaken the bond between the leather and the china. Dust as needed with a dry cloth, or use a very lightly damp cloth to spot clean. Store in a cool, dry place. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight (keeping out by a window, for example) may discolour the leather over time.
Stainless Steel Jewelry - is sturdy and designed to withstand quite a bit of abuse. Having said that, gold and rose-gold plated stainless steel will loose its colour over time. Avoid abrasive materials when cleaning, and instead use a soft, damp microfiber cloth. A dip in a luke-warm soapy water is fine. But scrubbing will result in potentially losing the plating finish, as well as leaving scratch lines.
Always double check the listing before purchasing - earrings made with "surgical steel" are typically a good choice for those with sensitivities. However, not all earrings come with surgical steel. If the listing is unclear or does not offer surgical steel as an option, please reach out - it's usually possible to switch the ear wires prior to shipping.
I offer repairs and refinishing on my broken china jewelry, as the leather can wear down over time.
Ceramic Mugs - can be hand-washed and put through the dishwasher. The original art design has been imprinted into the ceramic via heat pressing and will not wash away. They can also be put in the microwave.
Stainless Steel Tumblers & Camp Mugs - While the method of art application remains the same, the make of these containers requires extra care. NEVER place any metal drinking vessel into the microwave. Handwashing is recommended, as dishwashers can destroy the vacuum seal on travel mugs and tumblers over time. Repeated washing in a dishwasher can also weaken the ceramic coating bonded to the stainless steel, so I recommend handwashing your camp mugs as well.
DTG (Direct to Garment) Hoodies, T-Shirts & Totes - wash on cold, inside out, and (preferably) hang to dry. If putting in the dryer, tumble, inside out, on low. Be mindful of the cotton content of the garment you are washing and that high cotton content pieces will often shrink a bit in the dryer.
HTV (Vinyl Heat Transfer) Hoodies, T-Shirts & Totes - wash on cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle, and hang to dry. Repeated exposure to dryer heat will deteriorate the HTV applique quickly, causing peeling and cracking that cannot be repaired.
DTG (Direct to Garment) Hoodies, T-Shirts & Totes go through a vinegar-wash to set the dyes after printing. This smell is strongest when you first receive your item. Place in the wash, inside out, and hang to dry or tumble in the dryer on low and the smell should be gone!
DTG (Direct to Garment) printing is a superior printing technique onto fabric that is just not available for the average home-based artisan. DTG printing machines can average over $10,000. Commercial DTG printers have huge varieties of materials available (sizes, colours and styles), as well as the equipment to print amazing reproductions of artwork on clothing. I personally order and test each and every clothing item I offer from 3rd party printers to ensure the quality of the items I'm offering.
